‘Echoes: The Visual Other’ is an exhibition of the late Francis Ebejer’s artworks, curated by his son, Damian Ebejer, also an artist. Francis passed away almost 30 years ago and was mostly known for his playwrights and novels. However, this expo displays visual artworks and doodles which he is less known for. Over 30 visuals are on display, using various artistic media including coloured pens, pencils, pastels and charcoal, showing works created during the 80s and 90s. Damian also launched a book which he has compiled with his father’s art, featuring writings by art scholars.
Jeremy Vassallo, CSR Manager at APS Bank stated, “We take pride in supporting this exhibition, which beautifully captures the profound artistic essence of Francis Ebejer, away from the writings he is mostly recognised for. Discovering his diverse talents and sharing this with the community has been truly gratifying.”
The exhibition was hosted at Wignacourt Museum in Rabat, until 30 June.
