As part of the #APSlife: Celebrating Diversity initiative, APS Bank proudly hosted a breakfast session delivered by Mina Jack Tolu at its head office, in Swatar. Mina, a respected LGBTQI activist and expert in gender identity, shared their knowledge and experience with the Bank’s staff. With over a decade of expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across Malta and Europe, Mina provided valuable insights into the Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics Act (Chapter 540 of the Laws of Malta).
The session encouraged an open dialogue, allowing colleagues to engage in meaningful discussions and ask questions about the law’s impact on the community.
Susan Vella, Corporate Culture Change Manager commented, “At APS Bank, we hold our values of authenticity and inclusion close to heart. Sessions like this are crucial, offering a safe and welcoming space to explore the lived experiences of some of our colleagues and customers. By deepening our understanding of the legal framework around gender identity and the human experience it shapes, we are better equipped to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, valued and respected. These discussions not only help us improve the service we provide to our customers but also ensure that our employees feel fully supported to be their true selves at work.”
