APS Bank team members have participated in a number of sport events over the past weeks. Two athletes from the Bank formed part of the Malta Employees Sports Association (MESA) contingent, representing Malta at the third edition of World Company Sport Games. Aaron Mifsud, Head of Retail, won four gold medals and Darran Agius, Private Clients Relationship Manager, won a silver and bronze medal, both participating in different running events. Of particular note are the times obtained by Aaron Mifsud in the 5000m race (16:25), 1500m race (4:33), 800M race (2:17) and 9km city run (30:28), all in the space of 48 hours.

The Bank’s football team is once again participating in the MESA 1st Division League after the Covid-19 postponement. So far, two matches have been played with another five lined up until February 2022.

Besides competitive participation, many staff members regularly engage in different types of sporting activities. Recently six colleagues embarked on a four-day circular cycling challenge, covering 500km between Pozzallo, Sciacca and back.

Ray Bonnici, Chief People Officer commented “We are very proud of the sporting achievements of our colleagues, whether at competitive events or otherwise. As an employer we encourage a healthy work-lifestyle balance and are glad that such sporting activities have now resumed in full swing.”
