On 16 February, our colleague and friend Wilhelm Attard lost his valiant fight at the age of 51.
Despite being totally engrossed in battling illness for the past three years, Wilhelm kept trying his best to contribute as a member of the Bank’s senior management team, attending meetings until some months back.
Beyond the office walls, where since 2016 he had served successively as Head of Operations and then as Head of Support, Wilhelm was devoted to his dear family and his beloved Inter FC. But his colleagues especially remember him for his deep sense of duty and team-work, and keen interest in continuous professional development.
Quoting Einstein: “Death is not an end for those who can live on in those they leave behind. For they become us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life”. And Wilhelm was just that, which is why we at APS Bank, Board, Management and Staff, treasure greatly our times with him.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences to his wife, children, parents, siblings and loved ones. Ride gently into the eternal night, Wilhelm.
