APS Bank’s staff members are regularly invited as speakers to share their professional expertise at local and international events, as well at attending international conferences to represent the Bank. Here are some highlights for the third and fourth quarter of 2023:
- Martin Scicluna, Chair, contributed to the panel discussion during ‘Governance: The foundation of successful organisations’, organised by Ganado Advocates.
- Marcel Cassar, CEO, contributed to various panel discussion over the past months including the ‘Malta Asset Management Forum’, organised by Deloitte, AlterDomus, and Ganado Advocates. He also took part in panel discussions at the ‘Sustainable Finance Conference’ by MFSA, the ‘Malta Future Realised Conference 2023’ by EY, and the SME Conference 2023 – ‘Renewing our Future Growth’ organised by the Chamber of SMEs. Furthermore, he was part of panels discussing ‘The Future of Banking Supervision’ by the MFSA and ‘The MIA PIAB Conference – Beyond the Bottom Line: Redefining Success’ by the MIA.
- Graziella Bray, Company Secretary, delivered a presentation on ‘The role of the company secretary’, organised by Maltese Association of Small Shareholders (MASS). She also delivered a presentation at ‘Annual Company Law Conference 2023 – Maltese Company Law – new perspectives, new laws, new challenges’, organised by the Chamber of Advocates.
- Jonathan Caruana, Chief Technology Officer, participated in a panel discussion during ‘Shaping Malta’s Future 2023’ organised by GrantThornton.
- Ronald Mizzi, Chief Financial Officer was interviewed during the TV programme ‘Flusek’ to discuss the Bank’s financial results earlier this year.
- Ray Bonnici, Chief People Officer, delivered a presentation on “Retaining Talent through Training and Development” during a masterclass at the FHRD Annual Conference and participated as a panellist at the UoM’s MBA programme on leadership and personal development.
- Cynthia Borg, participated in the ‘12th Annual Anti-Bribery & Corruption Forum – A Global Outlook’, organised by AMLP, held in London.
- Dione Stephan Gravino, Head of IT Infrastructure participated in a panel discussion about the ‘Unconventional career opportunities in ICT’, during the ICT Exhibition organised by University of Malta.
- Kenneth Genovese, Head of Investment Distribution, delivered a presentation during the ‘EU Agenda for Adult Learning in Malta Final Conference’, organised by the Directorate for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability.
- Matthew Swain, Head of Sustainability, participated in a panel discussion during ‘The Family Business Forum’, co-organised by Ganado Advocates and Zampa Debattista.
- Jeremy Vassallo, CSR Manager, delivered a lecture about the Bank’s historical background, its purpose and the CSR approach to BSc Home Economics students who specialise in Health and Consumer Studies.
- Miguel Calleja, Product Portfolio Manager, delivered a presentation and formed part of a panel discussion during the web-conference ‘International Best Practices in Manufacturing’, organised by the Malta Business Bureau.
- Roberta Portelli, Scrum Co-ordinator, participated during a panel discussed at the ‘Digital Banking Customer Success Conference’, organised by NF INNOVA held in Serbia.
