On Tuesday 4 April 2023, APS Bank supported Mro Christopher Muscat’s Stabat Mater, held at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta. This was performed with the participation of Caroline Bruker Freier (soprano), Josef Bugeja (cantor), Jubilate Deo Choir, KorMalta-Malta National Choir and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Mro Muscat himself. The Stabat Mater is a 13th century Christian hymn in Latin reflecting on the Blessed Mother’s sorrow during Jesus’s crucifixion.
The proceeds collected from the ticket sales of this concert were in aid of the University of Malta Research Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT), to help fund medical research particularly in the areas of cancer, diabetes, ALS and other neurological disorders.
