APS Bank’s football team sported their new gear, when they were invited to compete in the IFR Championship, a 7-a-side football tournament between 32 local and international companies in the iGaming, Fintech and Real Estate industries. The tournament took place between 17 and 18 September 2022, where the Bank competed against a number of teams and won the final against PwC Malta. The APS Team’s performance throughout the tournament was also acknowledged as three players were awarded with individual honours: Arnold Buttigieg – Most Valuable Player; Neil Marlow – Best Goalkeeper, and Ryan Farrugia – Top Goal Scorer. The team will be donating the cash prize from the tournament to charitable institutions, including the APS Provident Fund.
Etienne Vella, Team Coach stated, “We are ecstatic to have represented APS Bank in the IFR Tournament 2022, wearing our new kit, and bringing the trophy home. It was a collective effort, which involved a lot of training sessions, teamwork, making new friendships and creating experiences with work colleagues. It was ultimately a positive experience for all the team, and we look forward to other opportunities to represent APS Bank in future football tournaments.”
