“Sustain Tomorrow Today” is the 2022 theme set for the Malta Sustainability Forum (MSF), organised by APS Bank. MSF was launched in 2019, with the objective of raising awareness on the topic of sustainability, with the aim of empowering citizens to make conscious decisions towards a more sustainable life. Sustainability lies at the heart of APS Bank’s values, underpins the Bank’s business strategy and is a core pillar of the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
The first two events of MSF in 2019 and 2021 were conferences. During this time, local events focusing on sustainability were few and far between. However, interest in sustainability has now gained more traction locally and in response MSF has evolved into an ongoing stream of communication across MSF social media platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Based on the success of the previous editions, this year MSF will be delivered as a series of afternoon events, spread throughout the year, online or hybrid as the circumstances permit. The first event will be held online on 7th April 2022, with the title: Level Up for Carbon Neutrality. This event will start with a keynote speech and a presentation, followed by a panel discussion from a business point of view and ending with testimonials from individuals and organisations. The key message is that every person has a role to play in reducing their carbon footprint. The public will have the possibility to interact through Q&As and live polls.

This ties in with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development goals, to meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world.”
The first event will bring together leaders in the field, including Prof. Simone Borg, Ambassador for Climate Action Malta and Prof. Charles Galdies, Associate Professor at the Environmental Management and Plan Division within the Institute of Earth Systems at the University of Malta. More speakers and information about the agenda will be announced in the run up to the event.
